Master’s Degree in Digital Automation Engineering
GOALS
The degree course aims to produce experts that know how to master automation engineering methods and technologies in a digital context, both on a theoretical and practical level. Graduates will know how to manage the evolution of specific automation technologies and tackle the challenges of Industry 4.0, developing complex and multi-disciplinary projects. The degree course is taught entirely in English. This will make it more accessible by a broader range of students and provide an international educational experience.
LEARNING PLAN
The new degree programme, which will be housed at the fourth University Campus of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, consists of a common core of first-year courses, covering the fundamentals of digital automation (statistics, artificial intelligence, mechatronics and robotics). After the first year, students will get to choose from one of three different tracks of digital automation engineering, each with its own specific curriculum, such as digital infrastructure design, robotic systems design and management of automated manufacturing systems. Every track ends with an internship at a research lab or company in the field.
